Easts Colts Hold on for Epic Win over Strong Queanbeyan Side

On a cool, blustery and often wet day at Griffith Oval, an injury depleted Easts Colts side held on for an epic win over the 2nd placed Queanbeyan side.  The final score of 6 - 5, which was also the half time score, was an indication of the grinding rugby that was played in tough conditions.  The coaching staff knew that this victory was coming - it was just a matter of installing the belief in the lads and making them understand that they are a capable side.

The 2nd half was an arm wrestle but probably fair to say that Easts dominated both territory and possession but were unable to add to the half time tally.  Queanbeyan held possession and attacked the East line in the final 5 minutes of the match but Easts showed amazing composure to ensure that Queanbeyan couldn't steel the game away in the final seconds.  There were numerous strong performances but most notable were Liam Bilston, Liam Harrison and Ted Garrety.  The lads will be looking to go back to back next week against Gunghalin.

3rd Grade had a disappointing loss against Young 26 - 12.

2nd grade, still chasing their first win of the season lost to Queanbeyan 48 - 0

1st Grade, after leading Queanbeyan 20 -10 at half time, let the game slip to eventually lose 29-20.

Next week, the Club is away at Gunghalin.  It is always a tough trip out there so plenty of support will be appreciated. 3rd grade have a bye but get down to training this week lads and make sure we have a really strong 2nd grade squad next week.
