Points Shared in a Thriller at Queanbeyan

In perfect conditions for running rugby, Easts played out a high scoring 46 all draw with fellow final contenders, Queanbeyan.  The match was marred by a contentious Red Card to Easts No 6, Roland Mateyawa immediately following the half time break.  Easts had raced to a 43-17 lead early in the 2nd half, but holding onto this lead with a player short proved too great a challenge for a gutsy Easts side.  The challenge to make the final 4 is getting bigger but still within our own control. Best players for Easts were Simon Webber, Vake and Jay Pee.

2nd Grade fell short going down 29-12.  The score line didn't tell the story of what was a close match for 60 minutes.  A number of the 2nd grade team played extremely well and will be putting pressure on the senior squad for the remaining 2 rounds.

Our Colts squad have fallen away from the high standards that were set earlier in the season and need to find some confidence this weekend against Gunghalin.

The highlight of the weekend was the big win by our 3rd Grade team who visited Cooma, coming away with a 26-21 victory. Adam McIntosh, K.Lua and Andrew Castrisson were among the best players.

Next weekend sees all Premier Division grades taking on Gunghalin at home. It goes without saying that it is now a must win game for 1st grade. A reminder that this round is also our opportunity to thank our valued sponsors. Let's make sure we have a massive turn out Griffith Oval this Saturday afternoon.
